The Great Adventure Begins

Crotched Mountain

Cedar Point, OH Aerial View

The student Residents of Redwood Manor, a residential home located at the
Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH, had a wish. They wanted to take go on vacation together after the school year ended. But where would they go? How would they get there? Sometimes, having a disability can make it a little more difficult to plan for a summer vacation.

The group decided that they wanted to take an RV trip to Cedar Point, OH. However, they would need money. So, they ran several fundraisers and asked for help from their parents and Crotched Mountain staff.

Finally, their wish for an RV trip was realized. Despite financial, physical, and social barriers, the students of Redwood Manor got into a caravan of RV’s and rolled down Crotched Mountain toward a road less traveled.

Redword’s Great Adventure has begun.

This blog is a dairy of their adventure. We have the privilage of sharing the journey with these students. There will be new sites to see, new experiences to be felt, and new friendships to form. Come with us and join the adventure!

    Hey Redwood boys and crew-
I’m so excited to see that you guys will be exploring beautiful and fun parts of this country in style. That is so fantastic that nurse Anthony was able to come with so that you staff could give that much more attention to the boys and have a little easier time. Have fun and lots of smiling of coarse. It warms my heart to see that Andy and John are along for the trek- and all together what a great crew of people.
    All my love,
    Lara Elise
